Start from a specific visual task
Write what the image is for and where it will appear. For a square social post, reserve space for the final text and name the subject, environment and mood. An example brief: editorial illustration of a paper notebook on a warm neutral desk, soft side light, simple composition, empty space above the subject. This is a fictional demonstration.
Generate on the web
Open the Create page on Midjourney and enter your description in the Imagine bar. Review the available results before changing the prompt. Use the generation settings to choose the format relevant to your output. The official guide linked below is the reference for current controls.
Change one choice at a time
If the composition is wrong, change the composition instruction while keeping the subject and lighting stable. If using a reference, decide whether it provides content or a visual style. Keep the prompt and selected result together so you can explain the choices you made.
Review the final image as a business asset
Inspect object shape, visible writing, logos, anatomy and any implied claim. Compare a real product image with the actual item before publishing. Add final typography in a design tool when precise lettering is required. Check the crop at its intended screen size and label generated illustrations where their nature could otherwise be misleading.
